How to keep or maximise your business' online presence during the lockdown

As we all know the COVID-19 pandemic has hit every single person on this earth. It has affected lives, business and life as we know it. Companies have had to temporary close, send their employees home, cut down on certain things to save money. They have also had to think creatively about how to keep their customers and continue to serve them during the lockdown. And since everyone is stuck any home and on the internet, companies have also had to find ways to stay relevant on the internet.

In today’s blog post we share 3 ways you can keep or maximise your business’ online presence during this troubling pandemic.

Read the room:

Everyone is going through it, so now is not the time to be insensitive. Post content relating to the pandemic, share hope, encourage people to stay at home, share helpful tips etc.

Create a digital campaign or challenge:

News can be overwhelming and triggering so it’s important that people can look away from the bad news and let themselves be distracted by something fun and entertaining. Give your audience a challenge to partake in - create a hashtag, have them tag your business when doing this challenge. Engage your community by re-sharing their posts, commenting and answering questions. Let them know that you are there with them.

Create a giveaway:

Like a challenge but with an incentive. Create a give-away of something from your business, a useful hamper (could be stuff they need during the pandemic), a voucher they can use after the lockdown. Run it for the period of the lockdown to maintain engagement. Make the challenge fun and entertaining to help your audience think about something else other than the virus.

Now is a great time to get to know your audience, what they do and what they like. Use this time to win their trust and show that there’s a human behind the account who cares about them more than making money.

We hope these tips were hopeful, stay safe.
