3 Tips for a Killer Digital Strategy

Are you a small business and looking to find your space on the digital webs? Not sure where to start?

We’ve put together 3 tips you can use to jumpstart your journey.

Define Your "Why?"

What are you trying to achieve? What are your aims? More followers? More sales or engagement? Brand awareness? All of the above?

It’s important to lay out your goals and your reasons for your online presence. It helps you stay focussed on what’s important, it also helps you to deal with every area specifically, like a mechanic knowing exactly where the problem is and figuring out the best way to fix it.

Create Your Brand Story

A brand story is a cohesive narrative that encompasses the facts and feelings that are created by your brand (or business, if you prefer).

Your brand story could stem from the history of your business, however, it should be something even bigger. Things that can influence your brand story could be your product, price, history, quality, purpose, values, location and most importantly what your customers or other people say about you.

A brand story tells the motivation for starting your business, and why you get up and do what you do every day, why customers should care, and why they should trust you. The brand story builds connections and it builds trust. It invokes emotion.

Develop a Content Strategy

Once you’ve determined your why, your brand story… you would have figured out who you audience is - what they like, what they are doing, watching, eating etc. The next step would be to create a killer content strategy.

Content Strategy is the development, planning, creation, delivery and management of content. The purpose of content strategy is to create meaningful, cohesive, engaging, and sustainable content that attracts the company's target customers.

This process will allow you decide on the platforms you’d need to occupy. The type of content you’d need to produce and when and how you’d put it up.

List content ideas, content mediums to explore - video, photos etc and then whip out a calendar and plan out when you will produce this content and when you will post it.

Plan weeks or months in advance to stay consistent but to also keep you on track.

A lot goes into pulling off a killer digital strategy but the 3 tips mentioned above are a great starting point.

We’ll discuss and explore everything in depth in the upcoming blog posts but should you have any questions drop them below.
