Beso Media's 2023 Wrapped

As we settle into 2024, we would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year. We hope you all had a beautiful festive season and will have an amazing 2024.

With that being said, before we share all the exciting projects we have planned for this year, let’s talk a little about what we had going on last year.

Let’s start with what has been happening in the office

We are unbelievably proud to announce all the projects we launched last year.

Dear Fellow

We started the year off by launching our very first Newsletter. It is targeted to our fellow creatives, industry partners, clients, social media managers, and designers. Our newsletter contains everything from what is going on in the office, to what is going on in the country, and even the world as a whole.

Dear Fellow is sent out at the end of every month so do make sure to sign up so you can stay in the loop on all the industry updates we have to share.

Sketchy

If you haven’t purchased a Sketchy product yet, what are you waiting for?

As creatives, we have always had a need for an outlet that provides organisation and creativity, with some room to mess up and start again as well, so we created one.

Sketchy is a purely Namibian brand. It is currently available online, but word on the street is that a physical store will be opening up soon so make sure to follow us on Instagram to stay updated on all the upcoming changes.

The Creator List

The Creator List started off as a pool of creators we could collaborate with on User Generated Content for our social media clients. A few months later, the list became bigger than that.

It is now a fully-fledged database of content creators in Namibia. As we work on creating a platform that allows brands to visit and find these creators themselves we act as a liaison between brands and Namibian digital creators.

Last year, we worked with a total of 16 creators from our Creator List.

If you are a Namibian creator, looking to grow your portfolio. Make sure to sign up to our Creator List.
If you are a brand looking to include UGC in your strategy? Get in touch with us.

BM Content Studio

If you have been following us for a while, you will know that we had closed down our content studio for a little while. We are happy to announce that the famous BM Content Studio made a return last year.

With many changes and new features, it is the perfect place to take some beautiful content for your social media, website, or even record a podcast or YouTube video.

We would love to see how you make use of the space so make sure to send that email and book the studio here.

Internship Program

Along with the many projects we launched last year, we also continued with our internship program. Our internship program allows people to gain experience, a recommendation letter, build a portfolio, gain new skills or perfect their existing skills.

Our internships last a total of 3 months and range between graphic design, production, and digital.

In 2023, we had a total of 7 interns, 3 of which became permanent employees of Beso Media.

The team has grown tremendously in 2023, and we can’t wait to see what 2024 has in store for us.

We have already started the hunt for our 2024 interns so stay tuned on our socials to find out when applications go live.

Team Activities

Beso Media wouldn’t be the Beso Media we all know and love if there weren’t a few fun activities taking place, would it?

Brand Shoot

We started 2023 off by having a long anticipated brand shoot. We needed new images for our website and socials, to update our company profile, and most importantly, to have images that best represent we who are now. We searched long and hard for a photographer that we felt would best show what we were trying to communicate through our images, and after a thorough search, we found the perfect one.

If you haven’t seen some of our new images yet, make sure to take a look at our team, on our website.

Sip and Paint

At Beso Media, we understand how important it is to build a relationship with our colleagues. For this reason, we decided to have a few team building activities. The first of which was a sip and paint.

The team was split into three groups of 3. Each group had a different theme that they had to interpret and present however they saw fit.

And it wouldn’t have been a Beso activity without making it a competition now would it? So of course a winner had to be chosen and we left that up to the public.

Netball Game

Our second team building activity was a netball game, along with a few other activities. The office was divided up into two teams. Namely, Club Beso and Club Media.

This team building was a little extra special though, as it was also a celebration of Beso Media turning 6 years old.

A few people were left limping at the end of the day, but it was definitely a day to remember.

With that being said, congratulations to Club Media (White), once again, for winning, not only the netball game, but all the other activities that took place during that day.

Year End Function

Our last team activity for the year was of course our annual Year End Function.

Last year we decided to make it a little different and have a pajama party themed function, and it is safe to say that everyone had an absolute blast. We started the function off with a very fun scavenger hunt, and ended it off with some karaoke.

In between those activities, we had a card reading, a lovely dinner, and even an awards show,

It was truly the perfect way to end off the year.

2023 Events

The Great Pop Up

The Great Pop Up is an annual event hosted by Monochrome Magazine. The last edition however, was done in collaboration with Vinyls.

It is a festive event, filled with food, music, products made by Namibian brands and creatives, amazing vibes, and fashion.

If you missed the one that happened last year, don’t worry. Word on the street is that another one will be happening this year.

Will we be seeing you at the next one?

Make sure to follow @Monochrome Magazine on Instagram to get all the details.

Shades of Sundae

Monochrome Magazine hosted the very first installment of the long awaited Shades of Sundae last year.

All shades of green graced the event. From emerald and olive green, to neon green. While the attendees showed off their beautiful outfits and took advantage of the content booths that were available, Loudima blessed us with a spectacular set on the decks.

Every event has a highlight. And the highlight of Shades of Sundae was undeniably the beautiful showcase by MN Creations. MN Creations showed us a beautiful winter collection that caters to both men and women.

Make sure to follow Monochrome Magazine on their socials to stay up to date with everything else they get up to.

New Clients and Projects

Every year we are presented with new and exciting accounts to manage, or projects to take on and 2023 was no different.

We signed a number of new clients last year and we would like to run through them with you guys.

We had a total of 13 completely new clients last year, namely:

Not only did we get a number of new clients, we also onboarded two returning clients, namely:

While we are here, we would just like to announce that we are officially open for new social media clients, so make sure to send us an email before our roster fills up.

Now let’s look a little more into a few of our 2023 clients.

Swift 30: The Game Show

Swift 30: The Game Show is the very first game show of its kind in Namibia. It was derived from the board game, Swift 30, which is popularly known as the "Namibian 30 seconds”.

This project was especially exciting for us because it was our first time having a game show as a client. Our brief was to manage the roll out of the project on social media by creating anticipation, growing the audience and driving traffic to their YouTube channel where the episodes would drop.

If you haven’t seen it yet make sure to head to the Swift 30: The Game Show Youtube channel.

The Good Food Market

This was another exciting project for us because we were not only responsible for the digital marketing, we were also responsible for the traditional marketing. This was not only a social media project, it was also a branding project. It is safe to say that we were part of this amazing event from the beginning and we are so very proud to see how well it has, and is still, doing.

The first installment of The Good Food Market had an astounding turnout of 1200 attendees.

Make sure to keep your eyes peeled on their socials because we hear another one might just be coming sooner than we think.

OLAF

Otjomuise Live Arts Festival is an annual festival that ultimately aims to contribute towards a city that enables dynamic and accessible live artistic forms for cohesion, collective reflections and enlightenment.

The 2023 edition was a little different though, because instead of the usual festival, OLAF hosted a special edition - curated arts performances in different parts of the city for 5 weeks. These performances included contemporary dancing, light projections, and of course live music.

Our brief was to manage their online presence, disseminate information, design and create engaging content that captured the essence of the festival. Check out their instagram to see what we got up to.

If you would like to be part of OLAF 2024, make sure to have a look at their website where you can find all the necessary information.

That is a brief look into 2023 at Beso Media. Make sure to follow us on our socials to stay updated on everything we will be up to in 2024. We can guarantee that it is going to be a fun, exciting, and busy year.
