Epupa Camp: A content trip of a lifetime

When we were handed the reins of Epupa Camp's digital marketing, we knew it was more than just showcasing a destination—it was about telling the full story. Our journey with Epupa Camp started with an immersive visit, not only to capture the camp’s stunning landscapes and amenities but to also highlight the heart of Epupa: its people.

From the roaring Epupa Falls to the serene desert nights, every corner of the camp is steeped in history, culture, and natural beauty. Our goal was to translate this into compelling content that would resonate with travelers, drawing them into the story of Epupa Camp and its unique location.

We ensured that the content produced during our visit was rich in storytelling. Yes, we captured the beauty of the destination, but we also took care to highlight the local communities and individuals who are an integral part of the Epupa experience. Through photos, videos, and interviews, we brought out the human stories that add depth to the experience, creating a connection between potential guests and the people who make Epupa what it is.

Our one week visit started off with an 11 hour road trip from the capital city, Windhoek.

We arrived in the late afternoon and were greeted with welcoming drinks, a mini tour and escorted to our resting places.

We regrouped for dinner and worked out the itinerary for the week.

We kicked off the week with a comprehensive tour of the campsites to get a firsthand look at everything Epupa Camp has to offer. Whether for solo travelers, families, corporate retreats, or vacationers, we wanted to experience and capture the essence of this destination. Our goal was to create a library of content—photos and videos—that could be used throughout the year, as there was no telling when we’d have the chance to return.

We also made it a point to dive into the various activities that Epupa Camp offers its guests. One evening, we enjoyed a breathtaking Epupa Sundowner, followed by an exhilarating rafting adventure the next day. We immersed ourselves in the local culture with a visit to a Himba Village, where we even did a bit of shopping from the local artisans. To cap off the week, we hiked The Gorge, capturing the beauty of the landscape and the adventurous spirit of the camp.

Our content collection week was packed with unforgettable experiences, each one bringing the heart of Epupa Camp to life.

As part of celebrating the people of Epupa we also conducted interviews with Epupa Camp Staff.

Epupa Camp was truly a trip of a lifetime. Time seemed to slow down, and with spotty Wi-Fi, we had the rare opportunity to disconnect and be fully present with nature. We listened to the sounds of birds, engaged in meaningful conversations, and caught up on some reading. It was a much-needed break that reminded us of the importance of slowing down and resting—even if it was technically a work trip. The peaceful environment gave us the reset we didn't know we needed.

If you can, definitely add Epupa Camp to your bucket list, you will not regret it.
